The Hatch Is Back! See The All-new Toyota Corolla Hatchback
The new Corolla Hatchback builds on the desirable features of the standard Corolla: efficient powertrain, agile body, intricately designed safety, seemingly endless infotainment, spacious and comfortable interior, and head-turning style. However, the hatchback sees upgrades in several places, most notably the body, which is longer and wider with sleeker angles and additional features to enhance aerodynamics, like the aero-stabilizing fins located on the taillights.
Available in two trims, the SE and XSE, the new Corolla Hatchback fits a lot of Toyota tech into its compact package. Both rim levels come standard with the 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, and either can be had with a six-speed manual transmission or the innovative Continuously-Variable Transmission (CVT) which provides smooth automatic shifting as well as optimal fuel-efficiency. This efficient five-seater can fetch a capable 168-hp while saving at the pump with an EPA-estimate 38 mpg on the highway.*
As for features, Toyota includes a lot of desirable premium features as standard on the 2019 Corolla Hatchback. Drivers and passengers will enjoy one-touch power windows, voice-activated controls and Bluetooth® connectivity, backup camera, multi-function remote with Smart Key System, automatic climate control, and an arsenal of airbags to protect every passenger from every direction.
Of course, the most notable difference is the hatchback itself. Made of TSOP (Toyota Super Olefin Polymer) and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), the Corolla Hatchback is super lightweight, which not only aids in fuel efficiency, it also makes it very easy to lift open. Plus, the hatchback adds a noticeable boost in cargo volume from the 13 cubic feet in the standard 4-door Corolla to over 20 cubic feet in the hatchback.
